Level Passing Skills: Assisted Back Float and able to breathe multiple times while floating on front with parent assistance.
Water Acclimation 1(est. 2-3yr) - Water Acclimation, Submerging, Glides with assistance, Floating & Breathing skills progressions, Water Safety Topics
Level Passing Skills: Able to breathe regularly while floating(front and back), front and back glide and ability to move (arm & leg actions) 2-3 body lengths assisted.
Water Acclimation 2 (est. 4-5yr) - Water Acclimation, Submerging, Glides & Propulsion skills progressions, Water Safety Topics
Level Passing Skills: Move in water front & back(combined arm and leg actions), Float and Glide unassisted, submerge and retreive object. Complete all/ most skills 2-3 body lengths unassisted.
Learn to Swim Level 1 (6-8yr) - Introduction to Water Skills
Orient participants to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic aquatic skills. Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices around water. Enter & Exit water safely, breath control, floating, glides, combined arm & leg actions, and recovering to standing.
Learn to Swim Level 2 (7-9yr) - Fundamental Aquatics
Build on the basic aquatic skills and water safety skills and concepts learned in Level 1. Enter & exit shoulder deep water, submerge & hold breath safely, floating progressions, treading arm & leg actions, changing direction while swimming. Must be able to move in water unassisted.
Learn to Swim Level 3 (8-10yr) - Stroke Development
Build on the basic aquatic skills and water safety skills and concepts learned in previous levels. Enter water by jumping in deep water and recover unassisted, treading water for 1 minute, headfirst entries, streamline to swim,
- Swim 15 yards
- Front Crawl, Elementary Backstroke, Scissor kick, Breaststroke arms
Learn to Swim Level 4 (10+ yrs) - Stroke Improvement
- Improve participants’ proficiency in performing the swimming strokes that were introduced in Level 3. Swim underwater 3-5 body lengths, tread water for 2 minutes, and turns for Front Crawl & Back Crawl.
- Swim 25 yards
o Front Crawl, Elementary Backstroke
- Swim 15 yards
o Butterfly, Breaststroke, Back Crawl, Sidestroke
Learn to Swim Level 5 (10+ yrs) - Stroke Refinement
Help participants refine their performance of all six swimming strokes (i.e., front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke and sidestroke) as well as build endurance. Tread water for 4 minutes, Flip/Open turns for all strokes.
Learn to Swim Level 6- Fitness Swimmer: Level 6 students complete longer distances than Level 5
